ARTIST BIO
Alexis Arnold was born in Milwaukee, WI and spent fifteen years living in Portland, Oregon. She is now currently back in her home state and residing in Green Bay. She attended UW Stout and received a Fine Art Degree with a concentration in art metals from the University. It was at college where she was drawn to the darkroom and pursued photography as a profession. After running a successful photography business on the West Coast for over ten years, she is now focusing on her fine artwork once again. Alexis is inspired by the unique and versatile medium of encaustic. She often incorporates vintage found materials from local antique stores into her work. The mix of old and new has always been something she has been drawn too. Whether it's blending materials to create a one of kind piece or incorporating her photography into a dreamy wax form, she often starts with ideas in the form of sketches, watercolor drawings & images and then lets the piece guide her in the direction it wants to go.
